Our Team Roy Cecchetti ~ President & CEO This success spurred numerous awards and distinctions for the brand, including the selection as one of Inc. Magazine's 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America three years in a row, 1998-2000. Impact Magazine named Pepperwood Grove a "Hot Brand of the Year" in 2000 and 2001.Cecchetti was also honored as a finalist in Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2000 and 2001 for his role in leading the wine company. With Cecchetti Wine Company, Roy and his wife, Rachael, aim to mirror the success of his former company and believes this is the right time for such a venture. "The market today is ripe for wines that are approachable, consistent, and offer great value to wine consumers," he says. "Plus, the wine industry gets in your blood, it takes hold of you." Prior to entering the wine industry, Roy managed finance, accounting, human resources, budgeting, and governmental reporting for several large corporations, including Bechtel Group Inc., JDS Uniphase, and Bertolli Olive Oil Company. He has a degree in finance from Santa Clara University and an MBA from Sonoma State University. He lives in Sonoma, CA with his wife Rachael, who co-founded the company with him. They have one daughter, Alessandra, who is working toward her degree as Singer/Songwriter at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston. Bob Broman - Winemaker Crafting wines for Cecchetti Wine Company marks the third time Bob has worked with Roy Cecchetti. Previously, he oversaw winemaking duties for Cecchetti Sebastiani Cellar, including the widely acclaimed Pepperwood Grove brand. With the Pepperwood Grove brand, Bob sourced fruit from across California's diverse wine regions, allowing him to experiment with various blends and varietals. His blending and winemaking skills did not go unnoticed. The resulting wines from Pepperwood Grove received numerous awards including several "Best Buys" distinctions from Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, and Wine & Spirits, as well as a "Best Red Wine of the Year" at the 1999 International Wine Challenge in London. Bob has held winemaking duties at Napa Valley wineries including Round Hill Winery, St. Supéry Vineyards & Winery, and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, as well as Livermore Valley's Concannon Vineyard. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Enology from U.C. Davis. Bob lives in St. Helena, CA with his family and produces a variety of wines under his own Broman Cellars brand. |
